Creative Minds at work!
The Squirrel class are enjoying exploring music and sound. Through body percussion they have had an introduction to 'reading' music and recognising symbols to make sound and to rest. They have been responding to different styles of music through the week. During Rights 31 a group began an impromptu game of musical statues, creating the music themselves and coming up with some great beats to move to!
The Squirrel Class have been very busy learning and exploring through Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The class have even been making their own music by creating a Class Water Xylophone!
Across the school we have been continuing our project on Diversity and listening to lots of stories from around the world. We learned about a girl from Korea and how different languages use different symbols to read and write. We discussed how languages began and became so diverse. We created our own symbols to represent words inspired by the stories. Some of the words we came up with to describe our colourful and exciting world were...
We have had a fantastic return to school with lots of interest in the world around us and getting our brains ticking exploring our school indoors and out! We are learning about Diversity and getting to know each other and about what makes us unique.
