What is the BPAC?

• The BPAC is a committee that helps provide recourses, connections, and opportunities for our bilingual families, students, and community members.

Why Does Alvarado Elementary have a BPAC?

• Alvarado has a BPAC because the school has a Dual Language Program. Schools that have a Dual Language Program are allowed to have a BPAC so all the school's bilingual students, families, and community members have the resources and support they need to succeed. 

Does the BPAC have meetings?

• Yes! The BPAC meets at least 2 times a year. The meeting are held right before the PTA meetings, at 5:30pm, on the first Tuesday of the month. The first BPAC meeting of the 2024-2025 school year is September 3rd, at 5:30pm, in the Alvarado Library and online via Zoom. Do I have to be a member of the PTA to be a part of the BPAC?

• No! The BPAC and the PTA are separate organizations, but the PTA and BPAC do often work together so our events are welcoming to every family at Alvarado.

Does the BPAC have it's own events?

• Yes! The BPAC hosts a Potluck at the beginning of the school year. This year the BPAC Potluck will be held on Friday, September 6th. 

• The BPAC will also host an event at the end of the year. Keep an eye out for more information. 

What can I do to support the BPAC?

• Come to the BPAC meetings and volunteer! The BPAC is even smaller than the PTA, so we can use all the help we can get!

• Donate! The BPAC is currently funded by the PTA. If you are donating to the PTA events then you are helping to support the BPAC.
