Key Aspects of the IID Virtual Presentation:
Method: Participants submit a video presentation demonstrating the uniqueness of their innovation.
Timeline: Video submissions are typically due by 31st July 2026, with virtual judging sessions held in September.
Evaluation: Submissions are evaluated by expert juries from industry and academia.
Target Audience: Open to school students, university students, and academicians/professionals.
IID Virtual Video Presentation Guidelines:
The video presentation must not exceed 5 minutes.
· The video presentation can be in the form of presenter(s) appearing in the video presenting the product, and/or the use of PowerPoint slides accompanied by voiceovers. You may also use multiple screens, one for the PowerPoint presentation and a smaller one including you as the presenter.
· All information such as the title of your paper, authors’ name, affiliation as well as your photo must appear on the first slide of your presentation.
· Video presentation can be delivered in English or Malay
· Audio commentary and all information on the slides must be clearly presented.
· No background music is allowed.
The video must be uploaded on YouTube. Please set the privacy setting to ‘Unlisted’ if you wish to restrict the audience to those who only have access to the link of your video and paste you URL to this link (registro)
The video will be judged based on the following criteria :
· Technical aspects including clarity and quality of visuals (lighting) and audio (sound)
· Content of the presentation (e.g. interesting, relevant, clarity of ideas, creative)
· Delivery of the presentation (e.g. clear speech/pronunciation, dynamism)
Virtual Presentation Tips (based on best practices):
Engage the Audience: Use movement on screen (such as video, transitions, or object movement) to keep engagement high, rather than static slides.
Visuals over Text: Minimize bullet points and use visual aids, as they are more effectively processed and remembered.
Clear Communication: Ensure high-quality audio and lighting, as these affect perceived credibility
