Antisemitism is a hatred, prejudice, or discrimination against Jewish people, Jewish institutions, or Israel as a “Jewish” state. Antisemitism is a crime. It is on the rise on college campuses. According to a report published September 2024 by the Anti-Defamation League, "73% of Jewish college students surveyed have experienced or witnessed some form of antisemitism since the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year alone."
Freedom of speech is the right to articulate opinions and ideas without interference or retaliation from the government. Like all personal rights, the right to free speech is not absolute. The First Amendment does not protect hate speech, including antisemitic speech.
