In the movie Alien: Covenant information privacy can be seen in a couple different ways. The way David collected, studied, and manipulated alien biology without conferring and telling the rest of the crew or even his creators. This withdrawal of information keeps the crew in the dark and has them make life or death decisions without having all the knowledge that David has. Another example of information privacy in the movie is the way Weyland-Yutani holds back their real intentions with the crews they send on missions with false pretenses. Throughout the movie the crew believes they are on a colonization mission but the company's goal is always pursuing xenomorph biology for military or profit purposes. The company withholds information about dangerous alien lifeforms being present which leads to some of the crew dying. The ship alongside with Walter and David, monitor almost every action taken by the crew down to their physical health and psychological condition. This is without the crew wanting it and the information gathered from this is just kept and stored without the crew's knowledge. David also has his lab on the home world engineer, in which he creates new forms of life using human and alien DNA. This is a violation of bodily and genetic privacy and also did this without the crew knowing about it.
