I was told early in my life that I was a natural born leader, in fact when people would call me bossy my mom would say she is working on her leadership skills. I have had the opportunity to learn from some great professors and have learned a lot about what it means to be a true leader. I still feel I will be a servant leader with a little bit of situational leadership mixed in, because sometimes you will need to lead based on the situation and being a servant leader might not work the best. I still feel strongly that the children need to be put first and we need to meet them where they are. I am a firm believer that you cannot Bloom before you Maslow and that social emotional learning is just as important as academic skills. This also goes for the teachers; we need to make sure they are taking care of their own mental health, so they are present for their students. I am excited to embark on my next adventure in the world of education, I will hold true to my values, beliefs and leadership style.
