For my economics Capstone, I researched felony arrests and its socio-demographic determinants in New York City. I conducted a data analysis with R, did research on the topic, and wrote a paper.
I won the Daniel A. Pavsek Award for Excellence in Economics for this research paper.
The overall findings for this study were that within NYC, men are 13% more likely to be arrested compared to women, and Black, Asian, and Hispanic people have a higher likelihood (23%, 8%, 6%, respectively) of arrest than white people.
