Membership
When the Alexandria Historical Society was first organized in 1974, 229 people registered as Charter Members including Alexandria’s Mayor Charles Beatley and the curators of both Gadsby’s Tavern Museum and the Lee-Fendall House. One of our 50th anniversary goals is to match or exceed the number of members AHS had in our founding year. To help reach our goal we have made some adjustments to our membership system primarily establishing our Golden Charter Members category.
AHS Members are eligible for the following benefits:
• Free admission to AHS lectures,
• Direct digital delivery of AHS Newsletters announcing upcoming events and providing other useful information about history in Alexandria,
• Direct digital delivery of the Alexandria Chronicle with in-depth studies of various topics on history here in Alexandria and Northern Virginia,
• The knowledge that you are supporting the work of uncovering, preserving, and sharing the history of Alexandria and our region with a fully tax-deductible donation.
Thank you for your interest in joining Alexandria Historical Society. Since 1974 we have been driven by our membership. Joining helps sustain our organization while giving you some membership perks. One of those perks gives you FREE access to all events along with early registration before the event is announced to the general public. We now offer a few options for joining.
1) Online Registration 1 year - Register for one year and come back next year to renew or upgrade your membership. (See below right)
2) Online Registration Automatic Renewal - Join now and next year your membership will automatically renew. (See separate section below)
3) Pay in person at an upcoming AHS live Event .
4) Pay by mail using this AHS Membership Form to the right.
