Season Summary

We believed we had more potential than our 2014 record of 1-5. The seeds of this season’s success were sown over a year ago in a game we wish we could forget. During that game, we made the conscious decision to keep fighting and show the boys that we had not given up on them- no matter how bad it got. Everything we lacked, especially team chemistry, seemed to be there in 2015. Athletes were picking up techniques and drills quickly and all of a sudden we were a different team from that of 2014. The first game, however, was a replay of last season. We were playing at the level of the competition and that coupled with some secondary mistakes brought us down to a similar score as the year before. Our second game seemed to be on the same path as St Edmond took the opening kickoff for a touchdown. Then that moment we had been waiting for- happened. The team rose up both offensively and defensively. It was a total team effort. We advanced from victory to victory (4 in a row) beating 3 teams that had beaten us the year before, improving every step of the way. The final game was against Humboldt, who had beaten us badly 52-0 the year before. Being behind 42-14 at the half, we re-grouped at halftime and lit a fire in the boys. The second half was a dominating performance by the Cadets! The final was 42-28 and we had drives inside the 20 that were stopped. For a team to be that far behind and rise up and get themselves back in the game was remarkable. Humboldt did not sub down in the second half .

We are so proud of this team and what they accomplished.
