Congratulations on being accepted into the Federal Bureau of Investigation. You are required to officially complete a 2-stage course before become an FBI Special Agent.

Once you are accepted into the whitelisted group, you are now able to attend training sessions. Fully read through the remainder of this document. You should have this document open during the training session to assist you with any situations or questions the instructor may ask.
Before attending training, ensure you are familiar with attire regulations. Hair must be professional and of natural color. A hat, free of markings, may be worn. Black, tan, or MultiCam gun belts are permitted. Vests, helmets, or other tactical gear is not allowed.
You are expected to follow a set of uniform and vehicle regulations during training. Vehicle regulations are listed below. Please use the Dodge Charger Pursuit with the training livery as your primary vehicle.

Ensure that you are in the station parking lot atleast 5 minutes before training starts. Follow the regulations below, as you will be inspected during the session.
Equipment Regulations
Uniform: FBI Physical Training shirt, MultiCam G3 combat pants.
Gear: Belt required, per uniform regulations. Hair must be organized and natural.
Firearm: M4A1 carry, Glock 17 in vehicle trunk.
Equipment: Beanbag shotgun, taser, ballistic shield.
Vehicle: FBI Training Vehicle per regulations.
Other Requirements: Ensure all trainees have the Academy Prep Guide open.
1. Verbal Commands
Use clear, firm orders to gain compliance.
Example: “Get on the ground!”
Goal: Gain control without physical contact.
2. Unarmed Tactics
Used if verbal commands fail and the threat is non-lethal.
Examples: Handcuffs, riot shields, physical control, flashbangs.
Goal: Control the suspect with minimal harm.
3. Non-Lethal Weapons
Used when a suspect resists or flees but does not justify deadly force.
Examples: Taser, baton, pepper spray.
Goal: Stop the threat safely.
4. Deadly Force
Only if there’s an immediate threat to life.
Examples: Firearm, vehicle ramming.
Never use deadly force on a fleeing, non-threatening suspect.
Exception: Armed suspect who has already used deadly force and is escaping.
Knife Suspect:
Give commands.
Keep 21 feet of distance.
Escalate only if the suspect advances.
Gun Suspect:
Issue verbal warnings if safe, maintain cover.
Only shoot if there is a direct threat to life.
Trespassing Suspect:
Politely inform them they’re trespassing.
Ask them to leave.
Escalate only if they refuse or resist.
Always start low and escalate only when necessary.
De-escalation first. Control, not punishment.
1. Control & Cuff
Secure the suspect safely.
Apply handcuffs while maintaining awareness of surroundings.
2. Disarm & Secure
Remove any visible weapons.
Firearms are to be cleared.
Place the suspect against your vehicle.
3. Safety Question & Search
Ask: “Do you have anything that could poke, stab, or hurt me?”
Conduct a full search.
Remove and secure all possessions (wallets, phones, etc.).
4. Vehicle Placement
Place suspect in your patrol vehicle.
Read the suspect the Miranda Rights while you are in the driver seat (away from possible external threats).
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."
"You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be provided for you."
Contain the threat inside a safe area.
Lock down area first, remove any civilians.
If pursuing, avoid going solo. Use containment or box-in.
Maintain cover at all times.
Always move with cover.
Prefer hard cover (walls, vehicles) over concealment (bushes, glass)
Never advance without cover.
Distance and Threats
Keep 21 feet from armed suspects.
If threat closes distance or breaks cover—engage with lethal.
Use less-lethal only if lethal cover or strong cover exists.
Communications
Keep both team and radio communication short and simple.
Announce your use of less-lethal so your teammates can cover.
During this section, you will be instructed to conduct drills at a designated firing range. Keep the following in mind:
Prioritize accuracy over speed.
Do not point your weapon at instructors or other people.
Fire only when ordered.
Felony Stop/High Risk Vehicle Intervention
High-risk vehicle arrest. Notify dispatch first.
Call sign, "felony stop,” exact location, vehicle description, occupant count.
Example: “1B-22, felony stop, 1205 Freedom Ave., brown sedan, 1 white male driver, 1 black male passenger.”
Position vehicles: one car length behind suspect; backups flank. Use vehicle for cover.
Suspect driver exits first. Orders hands up. Order suspect backward into covered zone.
Keep weapons on suspect until cuffs applied.
Search, cuff, secure. Maintain cover from both suspect and vehicle.
