My Recent Opinion Article:

As-salamu alaykum! Hi! Welcome to my website.

This is Muhammad  Akther Uddin. I'm originally from Chittagong, Bangladesh, a port city on the coast of Bay-of-Bengal. I am a multidisciplinary educator and researcher with learning, teaching, and research experience from Russia, Malaysia, the UK, and Bangladesh.

I have been working as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business Administration in the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC). Prior to joining USTC, I worked as an Assistant Professor, Senior Lecturer, Head and Coordinator of the School of Business at the University of Creative Technology Chittagong (UCTC) for six and half years. I hold a Ph.D. in Education Psychology from Moscow State University of Psychology and Education (MSUPE), a prestigious research university renowned for its excellence in academia, which has provided me with a unique perspective on the dynamics of learning and decision-making processes. Although my doctoral studies focused on educational psychology, my passion for finance more specifically Islamic Finance led me to transition into teaching and research in this field. Over the past ten years, I have successfully integrated my knowledge of psychology into the realm of finance, particularly in areas such as behavioral aspects of emerging capital markets, asset pricing, portfolio diversification, uncertainty, asymmetric information, and financial institutions. This multidisciplinary approach has allowed me to bring a fresh and innovative perspective to my teaching and research, fostering a deeper understanding of financial concepts among my students. Furthermore, my educational background includes an MSc in Islamic Finance from INCEIF University, a top-rank AACSB-accredited business school in Malaysia. This program has equipped me with specialized knowledge in finance and econometrics, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of this important aspect of the financial industry.

I have already published over 30 scholarly papers including 12 articles (SSCI/ISI, ESCI, ABS, ABDC, and Scopus-ranked), 5 book chapters, and 1 monograph. Notable journals where my papers have been published: Economic Modelling (Cite Score: 6.3), Australian Economic Papers(Cite Score: 2.8), International Journal of Finance and Economics(Cite Score: 4.2), Studies in Economics and Finance (Cite Score: 3.3), Managerial Finance(Cite Score: 2.3), International Journal of Law and Management (Cite Score:2.9), and Psychological Science and Education (Cite Score:1.5), Journal of International Trade & Economic Development (Cite Score:2.9), and International Journal of Asian Business and Information Management (Cite Score:2.9).
