Bharat Nayak from The Logical Indian walked us through the concerning issue of fake news and propaganda and how online verification of news has become a must in today's times. He explored the various digital tools that one can use to verity the authenticity of the news and its source .

I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to attend this wonderful three day long workshop on Creative Thinking where our mentor Mr. Sam Rufus , who introduced us to a new way of looking at the marketing and advertising world . I will never forget some of the wonderful quotes he shared with us , one being " Never sell a product , sell the dream" . COVI-FIT project was a part of the workshop.
3. Digital Technologies: MEDIATION and INEQUITIES

Dr. K S Arul Selvan Associate Professor, School of Journalism and New Media Studies, IGNOU introduced the students to the concepts of Social Media Activism, Digital Inequities and Computer Mediated Communication- Synchronous and Asynchronous. His idea of existing digital divide and its implications on cultural growth were truly eye opening .
4. Invited Talks on the day of National Press day
Organized by the Dept. MCJ, Tezpur University
A S Panneerselvan , Reader's Editor , The Hindu sensitized the students to the realities of the news media world . His ideas on how institutional support can go a long way in improving the news industry were truly note worthy . The workshop was also graced by Ammu Joseph, a well known author and journalist . She focused on the inefficacies of PTI and also drew a real picture of representation of women in media industry .
5. SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING With Pulak Sharma

Our mentor walked us through the concepts of Social media and how its algorithm works. From recent successful social media ads to emerging trend of 'Thumb stoppers', he taught us the most recent and relevant ways to widen social media reach .
6. MEDIA REPORTING ON CHILDREN WITH VULNERABILITIES

This webinar on Media Reporting on Children with Vulnerabilities : Perspectives from the JJ Act and POSCO Act sensitized us to the ways of ethical and real media reporting in these sensitive matters.
7. BHARATIYA CHATTRA SANSAD

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been selected for the first round as a student speaker for the reputed Bharatiya Chattra Sansad in the year 2019. Attending the three day long event was truly an eye opening experience for me , where the reputed panel members introduced us to a plethora of topics . From issues of fake news, curbing crime against women , one nation- one election to the topic of demonetization , the whole event truly sensitized me to a whole new world .
