Bio Note: An alumnus of Mumbai University ( Bachelor's in Mass Media), and Tezpur Central University ( Masters in Mass Communication and Journalism) , I find my space in the domain of media and communication, particularly in broadcast television and filmmaking .
My directorial debut KUMU (short) won the prestigious John Abraham National Award 2022 for Best Short Feature at the SiGNS Film Festival, organized by the Federation of Film Societies of India- Keralam. I was also awarded ‘Best Director’ for KUMU at the 7th Bengal International Short Film Festival, followed by five more awards at National level and one international , and multiple screenings across India and even abroad.
My documentary pitch on the subject of maternal health and anemia in Adivasi woman from the Tea Tribe community in Assam was selected for mentoring under Public Service Broadcasting Trust’s “DOC COMMUNE”, which is a reputed platform in the field of Documentary Making in India , in which the documentary pitch was one out of the 10 projects selected across India for mentoring.
Currently, I am completing the post production of my second short film- Son Of The Soil.
I started my journey in filmmaking as an Assistant Director for a documentary film called "The Children of God"(2021), following which I also assisted in the making of another documentary called "BRUSH STROKE" (2022), which was selected into the competition of the reputed IDSFFK (International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala).
I was also selected for an internationally recognized course on 'Film Criticism - Long Written Forms Film Analysis , Essay and Review' under Asian Cinema Education project created by Five Flavours Asian Film Festival, in cooperation with Udine Far East Film Festival, CAMERA JAPAN Festival and the Helsinki Cine Asia festival.
