This assignment is from CI 632. For this assignment, we were to choose a curriculum and compare it to the Reggio Emilia Approach. In the assignment, I go into detail comparing and contrasting Head Start/Early Head Start programs to the Reggio Emilia Approach, listing the histories, philosophies, and foundational elements of each. Through this comparison, I highlight the distinct values and methodologies that guide both, emphasizing how their approaches to early childhood education differ in areas such as structure, teacher roles, and child-directed learning.

These are two lesson plans for a preschool classroom I created in CI 632. The first one focuses on the content area of language and literacy, with the lesson topic being "Farm Animals." It is designed to run for 60 minutes, engaging young learners in vocabulary building, animal recognition, and phonetic awareness through interactive storytelling and hands-on activities. The second lesson focuses on the content area of science, with the topic "The 5 Senses" also lasting 60 minutes. This lesson encourages children to explore their environment using sensory experiences, fostering observation skills and scientific thinking. Both lessons aim to enhance critical thinking and curiosity in an age-appropriate, engaging format.

The second assignment delves deeper into DAP, exploring how to incorporate these practices effectively into classroom activities. Finally, the third assignment centers around creating Developmentally Appropriate Environments, with a particular emphasis on designing a preschool classroom setting that supports the learning and developmental needs of young children.
