LIBRARY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

POLICY STATEMENT

All students who are currently enrolled at AICS may use all the resources of the library upon presentation of valid identification cards. Library users are reminded that all books, periodicals, and other visual and non-visual materials are the property of the Asian Institute of Computer Studies and may not be removed from the library without proper authorization. No library items should be clipped, marked, or otherwise mutilated. Commission of any such act constitutes an offense and carries with it corresponding sanctions as may be imposed by the Discipline Committee.

Lost books should be reported immediately to the librarian, Borrower will be charged of overdue fines incurred until loss is reported and replacement for the book should not be longer than a month. The lost or damaged book must be replaced with a brand-new book, the same author, title, and year of publication or the latest edition. Books returned with missing or damaged pages will be the responsibility of the last borrower.

IV. LIBRARY FINES

Mutilation of printed library materials is an offense punishable by payment of not less the Php5.00 per page. Books that are returned late are subject to overdue fines; A fine of twenty pesos (Php 20.00) per book and per day is charged.

V. SUSPENSION OF LIBRARY PRIVILEGES

The following shall be grounds for suspension of library privileges; library privileges will be suspended for the rest of the school year to the offender. The case shall also be referred to the Disciplinary Committee for further procedure and appropriate disciplinary action.

1. Hiding or stealing books and other library property.

2. Vandalism or destruction of library property.

3. Forging signatures and due dates.

4. Tampering of valid Identification Card

5. Taking out any library material without permission from the librarian.

6. Lending Identification cards to other students for their use.

7. Habitual delinquency.

8. Boisterous behavior, discourtesy, misconduct, or any misdemeanor towards the library staff.
