This is the profession specific page for apprentices joining the Degree Apprenticeship BSc (Hons) Therapeutic Radiography course. This page will give you more information about preparing for Therapeutic Radiography specifically. 

Teaching and Learning

The radiotherapy and oncology course uses blended learning to utilise a range of teaching methods throughout your training. This includes online live sessions (whereby a member of staff will be present throughout the session), face to face on campus learning (2 days per year), on the job learning, online any time learning (a pre recorded session you can access in your own time) and self directed study.

This link takes you to the Society of Radiographers website, who are our professional body. You may already be a member and familiar with this, but please take the time to look at the expectations and support for students and apprentice learners.

Learn/revise some basic terminology:

• Anterior        front

• Posterior       back

• Superior        upper

• Inferior          lower

• Medial            midline

• Lateral           side

• Caudad          towards the tail

• Cephalad        towards the head

• Proximal       towards trunk

• Distal           away from trunk

• Superficial    towards the surface

• Deep            towards the centre

• Dorsal          towards the back

• Ventral         towards the front
