ARTISTIC ANCESTRIES AND DIALOGUES: Paul Klee

This lecture explores the various strands within the highly individual and deeply philosophical world of Paul Klee. In his journey towards abstraction,  he synthesized the geometric grids of Cubism with the intuitive approaches cultivated by the Blaue Reiter group. In addition, his visual language was shaped by a range of other influences - ranging from North African architecture to  the intricate polyphony of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Structure: Each lecture is a live event via zoom: a brief check and introduction, to ensure that participants have been able to connect, followed by a slide-presentation of about 50-60 minutes, and a Q&A discussion of about 20-30 minutes. Participants do not have to sign up for a zoom account. The link to the lecture is sent on the day of the event.
