Collectively, the Africa BEDI Research Labs (proposed here) serve as the strategic engine for our entire mission - translating the vision into tangible impact.

They are the nexus where our unique dual function comes to life: functioning as a real-world testbed for operational innovation on the University of Pretoria campus, while simultaneously acting as a platform for cutting-edge academic integration and research.

Grounded in a range of advanced methods and technologies - including digital twins, computational design, AI and data analytics, scenario development, future-state analysis, and explorations into the Sixth Industrial Revolution (6IR) - these labs work in unison to achieve our key objectives.

Afrika BEDI Research Labs research and explore solutions to enhance institutional sustainability, foster industry partnerships, and establish the University of Pretoria as the continental leader driving digital transformation of the African built environment.
