After the Shockwave control of the Western Territories has been returned to the indigenous people and the beasts that live there. It is a dangerous place and not one to be traveled lightly. Deals can be made with the tribes for safe passage, or one of the few rail lines can get you across to The Expanded Empire of China.
The surviving tribes adopted totem animals; The Wolf, the Bison, The Cougar, The Great Eagle, the Stag, the Bear. Each tribe is divided into smaller bands or clans. The Shockwave also unleashed some native magics that helped the indigenous people reclaim and protect their lands.
While some fighting and raiding does exist between the tribes, they have formed a conglomerate providing a unified front for peace deals in The Junction accords.
Seen by outsiders as usually peaceful but dangerous when pushed. They are an enduring people, occupying the northern region of the tribal lands. They are often wrapped in furs and prefer the cold.
The Bison Tribe is nomadic, traveling with the buffalo migrations. They manage and protect the herds. It is said that the strange energies of the Shockwave created powerful half man half buffalo warriors that travel among them.
The warriors of the tribe of the cougar are known for their stealth and cunning. They are marvelous trackers.
The Great Eagle tribe uses eagles to help hunt. Their homes are permanent dwellings carved into cliff faces in the southwest region of the Tribal Lands. Airship freelancers often work as a go-between between them and the Free Cities.
Home of the most renown archers and riders across the wastes. It is said that Horse Tribe children are born in the saddle and a bow in their hand. The bond between a rider and their mount is mysterious and little understood by those outside the tribe.
The tribe of the wolf has broken several of the wild wargs found in the wild-lands. They have taken to breeding them and using them to protect their homes and their warriors ride them into battle and on hunts. The vicious horse sized wolves are the basis for their frenzied fighting style.
