Even with so many nations so close together, currency of one isn't always accepted by another. A local currency was created, The Junction Credit. Because the credit is based on a trade value and has no gold or silver backing it, its value is quite low.
1,000 credits is roughly equal to 10 Union greenbacks, 20 Confederate bluebacks, 10 Republic redbacks, 5 imperial coin. Costs below are listed in Junction Credits.
These weapons can be used to perform an Agility Trick using the wielder’s Fighting (for lariats) or Throwing (for bolas) skill. Success means the opponent suffers –2 Parry until his next action. With a raise the opponent falls prone, suffers –2 Parry, and is Shaken.
Gatling guns were commonly used on the battlefields of the Civil War, but are prone to jams. If the shooter rolls more 1's than anything else in a single burst, the weapon jams and does not operate until a Repair roll is made. On any other result, it simply misses as usual.
These unusual weapons mount a 16-gauge scattergun barrel under the pistol (or rifle) barrel. A switch moves the hammer between the two, so the weapon can be fired either way each action round without penalty.
If the wielder scores a raise on his attack roll, the attack does not inflict an additional d6 damage. Instead, the victim suffers a –2 to his Parry until his next action.
This item allows the user to draw a pistol quickly in combat. Pistoleros only suffer a –1 multi-action penalty when they draw a pistol carried in a quick draw holster (additional multi-action penalties are –2, as normal).
Alcohol and drugs are quite common around the Junction.
There are better ways to get around outside of The Junction than using your feet. All the best diesel engines are provided by Texas Instruments, knock-offs can be found, but are a risky drive.
The humanity strain for all augmentations is the average of your Spirit and your Vigor. You are limited to one augmentation per body slot (Head, Torso, Hands, Arms, Legs, Skin)
Augmentations come in two main levels of quality, budget and designer. Budget augmentations are likely either mass built or recycled from a previous owner, whereas designer augmentations are custom built for the individual purchasing them.
Budget augmentations cost the listed aug value x 500, but have twice the strain on the body. Designer augmentations cost the listed value x 1000, and have the listed strain on the body.
The operation to receive the implants takes a number of agonizing weeks equivalent to the listed aug value. A Vigor check may be required for each week of the procedure, on a failed check you suffer a point of damage and the procedure is delayed another week.
* To prevent deterioration organic augmentations require a fresh "donor", else the recipient risk additional complications.
** When replacing limbs you first need to select how complex your augmentation will be. Selecting 1-3 determines the number of augmentations that can be placed into that limb. Limb augmentations are also required to come from the same category (Organic, Mechanical, or Electrical). [Mixing types possible with extra strain? - Case by case basis?]
