An advanced, hands-on online course focused on technical subsystem design, mission analysis, link/power budgeting, and project integration.
Target Audience: Engineering students, graduates, and postgraduates (Telecommunications, Geomatics, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer & IT, Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering).
Delivery Method: Online
Prerequisite: CubeSat / CanSat / Space Tech Training — Basic Module
Duration: 8 Weeks (2 sessions/week) — 1 Orientation Session (2 hrs) + 14 Core Sessions (2 hrs each)
Total Training Hours: 30 Hours Total
This module provides intermediate-level training to prepare engineering participants for real satellite prototyping by focusing on:
Deepening technical knowledge of CubeSat and CanSat subsystem design.
Hands-on skills in mission analysis, subsystem sizing, and system integration.
A systems-engineering framework for small-satellite project execution.
Practical design calculations including communication link budgets, power budgets, and structural sizing.
Preparing engineering teams to execute preliminary design reviews for space hardware.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Perform complete mission analysis and define requirements for small-satellite missions.
Size and select components for power, structural, OBC, and communication subsystems.
Apply systems-engineering principles and maintain requirements traceability.
Calculate precise link budgets and electrical power budgets.
Design, document, and defend a preliminary CubeSat/CanSat subsystem design.
Official Certificate of Completion: Issued by Aerospace Craft Academy, and Nano Satellite Yard
Digital Study Material: Access to digital slides, reference handouts, and guided mini-project materials.
Project Templates: Access to guided mini-project templates and technical design sheets.
Recorded Sessions: Live sessions are recorded and made accessible for the entire duration of the course plus 2 weeks after completion.
