March 2023
Dear Friends,
As promised we are sharing with you the recording of our most recent AEFJN -Spring Webinar and we were extremely buoyed by the attendance, energy, encouragement and sharing that made this event so memorable. On this page you will find:
The Flyer for the event.
The introduction to our webinar as prepared for us by Sr. Mary DeLargy RSM
Toni Pyke in conversation with Sr. Veronica and Sr. Winifred with respect to the impact of corporate irresponsibility on women and girls.
Gráinne Kilcullen from ACTION AID Ireland gives a global view of the impact of corporate irresponsibilty.
John McGeady outlines the action that we can individually take in the form of a letter that he encourages us to download, print, sign and post to our MEPs.
Jim Owens then draws our rich sharing to a conclusion.
We offer two letters the first of which can be sent to your MEP if this is your first time to do so and the second letter is for all who have previously sent a letter to an MEP but would like to send a follow up letter. We include also the names and addresses of our MEPs.
Sr. Winifred referenced a documentary entitled 'Maisha, a Life Outside the Mines', a Good Shepherd production that is well worth the watch.
Toni Pyke in her conversations referenced a Panaroma programme entitled 'The Electric Car Revolution: Winners and Losers' and we have included this documentary below.
Sr. Winifred also referenced the Investor Advocates for Social Justice who advocate on behalf of a community of investors whose faith-based values promote human rights, climate justice, racial equity and the common good. We inlude a link to this site below.
We are encouraging you to take the action, even if you are outside the EU as it is important that those who make the laws hear from all who are directly impacted. We are also asking you to share the link to this page or indeed any of the presentations with all whom you think might be interested.
Many thanks to all for your kind attention and sharing.
AEFJN- Ireland.
