Electrical Measurement Laboratory
General information about the Laboratory: This laboratory is intended to give practical knowledge to the students to measure electrical quantities such as Resistances, Capacitances, Inductances, Active Power, Reactive Power, design of Ammeter, Voltmeter, Watt-meter, etc. this lab is equipped with several electrical bridge circuits like kelvin’s double bridge, Schering’s bridge, measurement of unknown frequency, etc.

This laboratory offers support for courses as listed below

Experiments offered
A partial list of experiments offered by the laboratory is presented below.
Instrument workshop- observe the construction of PMMC, Dynamometer, Electro thermal and Rectifier type instrument, Oscilloscope, and digital multimeter.
Calibrate moving iron and electrodynamometer-type ammeter/voltmeter by potentiometer.
Calibrate dynamometer type Wattmeter by potentiometer.
Calibrate A.C. energy meter.
Measure the resistivity of the material using Kelvin Double Bridge.
Measurement of Power using Instrument transformer.
Measurement of Power in Polyphase circuits.
Measurement of Frequency by Wien Bridge using Oscilloscope.
Measurement of Inductance by Anderson Bridge.
Measurement of Capacitance by De Sauty Bridge.
