Advance Power System Laboratory

General information about the Laboratory: Power System II lab deals with the protection and simulation of various electrical instruments & circuits, high voltage transmission lines and protection of machines. Facilities are available for over current, under voltage, over-voltage, directional, differential, Motor protection, distance, On-time Off-time Delay relay including different numerical relays, Electrical Test Bench, etc. Students can directly measure the characteristics of fundamental components used in electric power engineering and study the operation of electric power systems. By ETAP software, students can sketch different electrical circuits & they can analyze DC load flow analysis. In the lab experiments, the instructor can teach students effectively about real electric power systems: operation, technical limitations, and safety issues. The laboratory contains the hardware and software used by industry professionals in the creation and maintenance of power systems giving students the opportunity to develop the skills and experience that will aid them in the both industrial & academic work field. The lab is equipped with all the fundamental equipment needed for experiments involving electric power systems such as transformers, power passive components, and power electronic converters.
