Adult Clinic Civically Engaged Learning Objective
Having the opportunity to have our own OTA/PTA clinic was a scary thought but turned into an incredible experience and opportunity. In the adult clinic having the options of in person and telehealth really widened my variety of clients, diagnosis, interventions and personalities. This was a great experience and not a lot of schools/programs get to have. I will say it is terrifying because it forces you to go out of your comfort zone but it does teach you in a safe space how to create a treatment plan, how to document and perform your intervention with an actual client with a supervising OT/OTA so you are never alone. If you ever have questions or need help they will jump in at any moment to help out. This will help me in my future occupational therapy career and in my third semester where I will be leading more adult onsite and telehealth sessions.
