OTA 1220/30 OT Modalities Lecture II and Lab

1220: Students will learn theory of assistive technology and application of upper extremity dynamic splinting, prostheses, orthotic devices, computer technology, environmental controls, and specialty areas of practice. This is a designated service-learning course.

1230: Students will learn how to use and make different adaptive technology. Using high technology and low technology.

Reflection:

This project was a steep learning curve for me, given my lack of experience in adaptive device creation and handy work using tools. It required extensive time and brainstorming to develop a unique solution. Despite facing setbacks and mistakes, the process was rewarding because I created a device that not only benefited my grandma but also helped her conserve energy while tending to her beloved yard/garden.​
