These are the current NPC packs of Adventium and simple descriptions of how they operate. As your wolves can hail from these packs, this information can help when developing a character from one of them.

» The Pack of Elk Ridge is a formidable, robust, and fiercely loyal pack ruled by a male wolf named Rhugar. The pack's territory is deep within the taiga of the northeastern peninsula, bordering the cliffside. Their camp is dug into a series of conifer roots and tunnels, with each rank gaining its own den. From birth, they are molded into strong, ruthless, intelligent wolves who must uphold pack law and loyalty above all else. Rhugar's bloodline has long since ruled the pack, and none have dared challenge it.
» The tyrannical leader is best known for his hostility to outsiders and trespassers, unless they are comely. If any stray is caught by one of his patrols and a female, they will be brought back to the pack to become his concubine. Whomever doubts his leadership or defames him in any way is captured, beaten, and executed. Deserters are also extremely lucky to make it out of the territory alive, for once you leave the ranks, you are fair game for anyone who wishes to hunt you.
» Despite the atrocities the pack commits, they luckily don't target other established packs. In fact, they don't show up to seasonal pack gatherings most of the time. When they do, a large display of power occurs as Rhugar enjoys bringing a large patrol with him, flaunting his pack's generally large and brutish appearance.
» Elk Ridge is not religious in any manner. The only tale they believe in is the Madachmaur, but only when they are young. Rhugar's sentries make sure they are no longer afraid of bedtime stories by the time they are adolescents.
» The Cotani Tribe is the near complete opposite of Elk Ridge. They are peaceful, easy-going, and friendly sea dwellers of the southwestern coast, often found swimming or diving beneath the waves in search of mollusks or seaweed. The territory borders between the prairie and desert, so although the temperatures are rather high, they can hunt a variety of prey on land thanks to the prairie dwellers. Their den is dug out from the side of a sandstone cliff, although they probably weren't the ones who actually dug it. Wolves of Cotani are welcoming, often feeding outsiders and sending them off on their travels with full bellies and rested eyes.
» Cotani is led by a wolf named Mo'at the Totem Bearer, a slender, narrow-eyed male wolf with pale yellow fur. He is quite old, and although most do not know his exact birthdate, the current assumption is around eleven years old. Mo'at is named the Totem Bearer after his position of leader, which comes with leading the pack in daily prayers and looking after the youngsters while the Swimmers go out to fish. This kind individual has no known descendants, but he enjoys spending time with pups and keeping them occupied with tales of Undamo.
» Once a year, these wolves can be spotted swimming along the southwestern coastline, across two lakes, and then cross the prairie until they reach the neutral grounds. From there, they name their fresh, young adult members. This is a special rite of passage that begins with summer and takes nearly half the season to complete. Usually, they make it in time for the seasonal pack gathering, and they will stay a few extra days to recuperate before starting the trek back.
