If you are new to Adventium, please read this guide. We know there is quite an eye-full of information, so this condensed version should hopefully help you as you enter the world of ADVRP!
» This is a semi-realistic, wolf-centered roleplay where your creativity can bloom. However, there are some limitations in character appearance and what knowledge they can possess. Please keep this in mind when creating your stories.
» Humans have never existed and will never exist in Adventium or any other land within this RPG. No character can have any knowledge as to what humans are.
» The time in Adventium is recorded by Seasons and Years. Every in-game season is eight weeks in the real world. At the end of each season, your pack must have enough food to feed the adult members. Unfed wolves will have their status updated to "inactive" and become unplayable. Alternatively, you can chase them out of your pack for other players to adopt.
» All game mechanics, such as hunting, pregnancy outcomes, and results of territory disputes, are calculated by staff. ADVRP is transparent with how this works, so members understand how things are done behind the scenes.
» As a player, you can unlock certain pack advantages or character-related items by increasing your Contribution level. This is increased by submitting artwork or literature and participating in server-hosted events.
» Each wolf you create will have skill proficiency levels you can grow by submitting artwork or literature. Each pack you create will have a reputation level that is a direct reflection of the highest-level wolf in the pack. Reputation provides certain advantages.
» Guest Wolves are wolves in your pack that are owned by another player.
» Joining the Discord is a must, as that is where the community is based and submissions are approved. Joining the DeviantArt group, however, is not mandatory.
» Your character must be a wolf. They must possess semi-realistic colors, markings, and patterns. Special variations such as leucism can be unlocked per the Contribution Exchange.
» There are no limits to physical mutilations your characters can have, such as scarring, torn ears, or unusable limbs. However, they will have in-game hindrances that affect the outcome of hunting and territorial disputes.
» Your first two adult wolves are free to create. Afterwards, more adult slots can be purchased in the Contribution Exchange.
» Your first pack is free to create. Afterwards, more pack slots can be unlocked in the Contribution Exchange. Every pack must have at least one adult.
» If you do not wish to create a pack and would rather have a character in a friend's pack, you can! As long as all parties agree.
» Each pack of yours is made up of characters you create, breed, or adopt. You can shape their stories however you'd like - from a tyrant leader falling victim to a coup d'état or a laid-back slice-of-life experience. Your pack's website (and Discord) page serves as a showcase to share these stories with other members.
» There are a few key features of ADVRP that mimic table-top gameplay, such as RNGS and character leveling. Despite these elements being a rather large part of the group, you don't have to be fully committed to them to enjoy your time in Adventium.
» Every wolf will have its own categories of skill and experience that can be improved by artwork or literature. These will affect the success or failure of hunting and territorial disputes.
» Each pack will have Reputation, which is affected by the pack members' level. A greater reputation equates to other packs knowing who you are and proceeding with caution or respect; a lower reputation may mean that none of the other packs have ever heard of you. Reputation has in-game effects.
» Pregnancies are rolled for success or failure. This is influenced by luck, but certain items can boost your chances.
» Hunting is calculated for success or failure depending on the skill level of your pack vs the animal's stats.
