All of the rules regarding content and roleplay as well as character creation guidelines.
Utilize the TOC below for easier navigation.
» This is in Beta form and therefore anything is subject to change at any time.
» Adventium is free from mature themes and does not tolerate them. Content must be SFW and should not contain heavy gore or suggestive themes. Light blood is allowed as long as it is properly censored or spoilered on Discord.
» Understand that the beliefs and acts of a certain pack or character do not reflect on the player.
» Stolen artwork or AI content of any kind is not allowed. Only artwork you have permission to use, have created, or have had commissioned.
» Per usual, please be kind and respectful to one another. Gossiping about other servers or players is not allowed, even if they have chosen to leave the group.
» Violators of these rules will be warned, kicked, then banned/blacklisted depending on the severity.
» You are allowed two free adult character slots upon joining ADVRP. Afterwards, more can be unlocked when your player level increases.
» You are allowed one pack slot upon joining ADVRP. Afterwards, you can unlock more by increasing your player level.
» When you join, you do not need a fully fleshed out character or pack to begin. As long as the minimum required information on each template is filled in, you can submit either your character or pack bio for approval.
» Characters cannot be all-knowing or have any form of unusual omnipotence outside their pack. No wolves know what humans are: they have never and will never exist!
» Since your pack is made up predominantly of characters you have created, it can be a little overwhelming to see all of them and assume you have to keep up with all of them. You don't. If you want to just stick to roleplaying one character and use the rest as extras, go ahead! If you want elaborate short stories featuring all of your pack and in-depth lore for each one - go ahead!
» When it comes to hunting, characters are allowed to hunt any animal that is listed in the small prey category without having to roll for success or failure. If they do take down some prey, please notify a staff member or add it to your pack's page so their food cache count can be updated.
» Major plot events such as character death (due to another player character) or a disease wiping out a whole pack must be discussed with staff.
» If two wolves would like to have pups and have rolled for it successfully, they must have a litter announcement in the form of artwork or literature before the pups can be posted.
» Wolves must be wolfy. Art styles, of course, differ, but try your best to keep your characters looking semi-realistic at least.
» Your wolf may not have any 'dog-like' ears or tails, such as curly tails or button ears, without purchasing it from the Contribution Exchange. A folded ear tip is allowed without needing to be purchased.
» Colors and patterns must be semi-realistic. No overly saturated colors, neon coats, or zebra stripes.
Your character is allowed to have white markings, but they must be limited to the snout, underside of the throat, chest, belly, backside of the limbs, and tip of the tail. White markings cannot resemble unnaturalistic shapes, like a perfect start or a lightning bolt.
Eye colors range, but the only colors not allowed are white, neon colors, purple, and black.
Any color other than "white" for the sclera is not allowed.
» In the Contribution Exchange, you can alter your character's appearance by use of mutations or otherwise 'unrealistic' patterns.
» Allowed wolf sizes vary. The shortest allowed size is 25" at the shoulder, while the tallest is 35". Deviations of these parameters can be unlocked in the Contribution Exchange.
» Feel free to be creative with character names. However, names cannot contain numbers or symbols.
» Since time is recorded by Seasons and Years, your character is bound to mortality and will eventually die. To give you some more time with your characters, aging is skewed a bit to make them last a little longer!
1 -3 Seasons > Newborn
4 - 6 Seasons > Puppy
7 - 8 Seasons > Adolescent
3 - 5 years > Young Adult
6 - 7 years > Mature Adult
8 - 10 years > Elder
10+ years > Elder's Elder
If your character reaches 10 years old, there will be a roll to determine if they will make it to the next season or not.
So, if your character is born into the role-play and you never skew their timeline, it will take approximately five or six real-life years for them to reach ten game-years of age. However, you are welcome to have them pass early if that is your wish!
» One Game Year takes approximately 32 weeks to complete.
» Death is not the only way out of Adventium. If you no longer want a character, you can chase them from your pack, which will, in turn, put them up for adoption. Other players can adopt the character or just the design.
» When it comes to the history of your wolf, you can incorporate the available NPC packs, others you have created, or be from outside Adventium. For instance, they can be a runaway from Elk Ridge or an outcast from one of your other packs. Check out the Lore page to view the history of Adventium, so you can perhaps incorporate it within your pack's beginnings or beliefs.
» All wolves must start with a skill proficiency level of None. Through artwork or literature, it can be increased. The only exceptions to this are adopted strays, as they keep whatever level they had when they were chased out of their previous pack.
There are currently three templates for you to draw your character on. They are shown here on DeviantArt.
» Your first pack is free to create. You can post a pack for approval without having a character formalized or vice versa, but it is advised to wrap both up at the same time so you can get started storytelling!
» Like character names, be creative with pack names. They can be descriptive of the territory around them or entirely based on the pack's religious beliefs. Like character names, no symbols are allowed.
» Name examples include Elk Ridge, Cotani Tribe, Follower of Sol, Twigto.
» Each pack must have at least two adult (young adult or older) members. Upon creating your first pack, it is permissible if you only have one adult at first.
» If the only adults leave or pass away, the puppies or adolescents can be transferred to one of your other packs to be sent to adoption as strays - aged up to an Adolescent.
» You control the narrative of your pack. Feel free to build off of the lore already present in Adventium or create your own. Your wolves staged a coup, failed, and were chased out of their previous home to Adventium, and decided to form their own pack? Cool, go for it.
» When it comes to religious beliefs, go as far as possible without entering magical territory. If your wolves believe rocks have spiritual energy and can heal or harm, go for it. Can they actually do that in Adventium? No, but we won't tell the wolves. Do you want your wolves to think that the stars are the great alphas of the past? Do it!
» Your pack must have some sort of hierarchy present. It can be as simple as a mom or dad just trying their best. Or it can be an elected member of a democracy or even a dynasty. As long as at least one wolf is somewhat calling the shots.
» With other users' permission, you can include other players' packs in your pack's lore. This is useful when playing a Guest Wolf, as they could be a former member of a different pack!
» Each pack takes up a visible plot of land on the Adventium Map. The size must start as the standard territory size. A staff member will draw the official borders on the map and make adjustments accordingly. Please make sure to tell us if you'd like it to border a river or anything specific.
» Your pack names the landmarks within the territory. Feel free to create a diagram or write out the location of labels on your territory snippet. Use NPC packs as a reference for how it will look on the website.
» Depending on your Contribution level, the number of adult wolves you can have in a pack varies. Your first pack starts with five adult slots.
» If you want to challenge a pack for their territory, be sure to read through here.
» Stray wolves are characters that other players have discarded. Upon chasing a wolf from your pack, you can choose to wipe their slate clean (except skill proficiencies) or keep all of their personal information.
» You may adopt a stray at any Contribution level.
» Strays will always keep their skill proficiency level. So, if you decide to chase an adept hunter, the next person who adopts them won't have to level them up all over again.
» If you do not wish to create your own pack, or for lore purposes want to start in another player's pack, you can create what is known as a Guest Wolf.
» Guest wolves do not affect the food cache of the pack they inhabit and instead must roll for hunting by themselves or submit literature of them hunting enough small prey to feed themselves (10).
» To create a Guest Wolf, you must, of course, have permission from whoever owns the pack you'd like to join.
» Guest Wolves can always leave the pack they are in and create their own.
