» Scouting is the only way you can expand your territory. If your pack cannot increase its size to the next size tier (medium, large), it cannot expand just for fun and challenge the neighboring pack.
» In order to expand, a wolf in your pack needs to scout the surrounding areas and discern if they would make good additions to the territory. As your pack numbers grow, so, too, should its borders.
» Each level of skill proficiency grants the scout additional points. These points are added to the RNG that is rolled when a wolf wants to explore.
» The modifier is adjusted by whatever proficiency level of scouting the Majority of the pack is in, regardless of how many members happen to be Experts in other categories. So, a pack of ten that only has one wolf with any scouting proficiency won't get a modifier, since they are outnumbered by nine wolves with no proficiency.
» Lists of Modifier Levels:
Novice: + 2
Intermediate: + 4
Adept: + 6
Expert: + 8
Masterful: + 10
» Each territory size has requirements that must be met before you can officially expand. They require a minimum number of adults your pack can have, and a minimum number of successes when your wolves go scout.
» List of Requirements by Territory Size:
Standard -> Medium: 10 adult wolves, 15 successes.
Medium -> Large: 30 adult wolves, 45 successes.
» When you decide to send scouts out, there will be a proper channel and form you will need to submit in Discord. After doing so, a staff member will make calculations and use this formula:
(RNG 1-20 + SPL Modifier) vs RNG 1-20. If the pack has the higher number, it is considered a success. If the number is lower, it is a failure.
You may roll once per day.
» If your pack reaches the success minimum before the population minimum, you must get at least two successful scouting rolls per game season to maintain your progress, IF adolescents in your pack will not be aging up within the next game year. Failure to do so will result in your successes being halved.
» Pack A has a total of ten members. Their scouting proficiencies are listed below:
6/10 Intermediate, 4/10 None. They get the SPL Modifier of + 4.
They submit a request to roll for scouting, and this is what it may look like on the staff's end:
(15 + 4) vs 18. The pack wins with a number of 19. Success! If they get fourteen more successes, they can expand to the Medium territory size, since they meet the adult requirement.
» Pack B has a total of 25 adult members. They have already met the success requirements (45) to expand to a Large territory, but do not meet the adult minimum. They have five adolescents that are set to grow into adults by the next game year, so the pack would need to get an additional eight scouting successes by the time those adolescents become adults.
