About
The Adult Education Foundation of Blount County is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization that raises funds to support critically important adult education programs serving Blount County. We also work to raise awareness of the need for adult education in our area.
Projects include, but are not limited to:
Adult English language acquisition classes in the evenings for English language learners.
Technology instruction for adults who need to learn skills to prepare for employment in today's world.
Workforce preparation skills and internships for underemployed youth.
Justice Center programs including financial literacy, workforce development, and computer classes.
We seek funding through grants, activities such as the Adult Spelling Bee, ScrabbleMANIA!, Friends of Adult Education campaigns, and from individual supporters like you!
In order to provide for our children, we must also better educate their parents, our adults. We are in the business of helping Blount County adults become better able to provide for their families by being more confident, responsible, and self-sufficient.
Mission
The Adult Education Foundation of Blount County provides a pathway to success for underemployed and working adults through collaboration with organizations that have a common mission.
