Our Commitment
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At the Adult Education Foundation of Blount County, we are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work and within the communities we serve. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality education and opportunities for personal and professional growth, regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances.
Our programs are designed to address the diverse needs of our community members. Through English language classes, free technology training, and services to the incarcerated, we strive to create an environment where everyone is respected, valued, and appreciated regardless of their race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, abilities, disabilities, or any other factor. We believe in creating a safe space for learning, where all adult learners are encouraged to pursue their learning goals and dreams for a better and brighter future.
Our commitment to DEI is reflected in:
Ensuring equitable access to adult education programs for everyone in Blount County.
Creating an inclusive learning environment that values and respects diverse identities.
Collaborating with like-minded organizations to maximize our impact and reach.
Continuously improving our programs based on community feedback and needs.
Creating awareness of issues that promote equity and social justice in education.
