Why the Adult Spelling Bee?
By supporting the Adult Education Foundation of Blount County in this friendly competition, you are helping the one-in-five adults in Blount county ― who desperately need adult education ― to succeed along career paths that will change their lives for the better, forever.
We assist unemployed and underemployed adults in Blount County by providing initiatives, such as:
internships with local companies
computer classes and digital literacy
assistance with resume writing and interviewing skills
English language learning classes for the limited English proficient
funds for books and materials for adult education programming
Justice Center classes in job readiness and money management
Ways to Join the Bee
Sponsor a team at one of various levels
Become a judge or a speller
Donate item(s) for silent auction
