Kindergarten Suggested Supply List

The following Kindergarten supplies are in limited supply and your donation of these supplies would be greatly appreciated.

  • Backpack (NO wheels, please. Should be big enough to fit snow pants, book, folders, and shoes. Locker size is 12”w x 11”d.)
  • Gym Shoes to keep at school (no black soles; Velcro closures preferred unless very proficient with tying!)
  • Extra pair of clothes (pants, shirt, underwear, socks) in a ziplock bag to keep in locker just in case...
  • 1 VERY Sturdy 2-pocket folder for Friday Folder communications (plastic folders are most durable to last the whole year.) Please put your child‛s name on the front, upper right-hand corner.
  • Beach towel in pillowcase for quiet time (Some use the towel as a cover and some use it to lay on)
  • Colored Pencils (24pk preferred)
  • Washable Markers (traditional, bold, bright, etc... are fine, Crayola preferred)
  • 8pk of Expo BLACK fine tip dry erase markers or more (the thin ones, not the regular large ones)
  • 8 small glue sticks (preferably Elmers)
  • 2 non-spiral bound primary composition notebooks (blank on top for drawing space with lines to write underneath)

Each Student with their last name beginning with these letters please also bring:

A - K

  • A package of #2 pencils (Ticonderoga preferred)
  • One of the following: shaving cream, ziplock bags (gallon size with the slider, sandwich, or quart)

L - Z

  • pack of crayons (48 count or larger)
  • one bottle of Elmers Liquid School Glue

IMMERSE

Fourth graders get the unique experience of participating in IMMERSE and Zoo Lab during the school year. IMMERSE is a full week of studying at the Grand Rapids Public Museum in the fall. Zoo Lab is a full week of making John Ball Zoo our classroom in the spring. Since we will need to pay for IMMERSE in the early fall, we wanted you to be aware of the cost associated with it. The cost per student to help cover bussing and the programming is $30. W e will send home an official notice regarding this once school starts but wanted to make you aware that this payment will need to be paid to Ada Vista by October 6. (No child will be left out due to nonpayment).
