The facelift retractor holds the skin flap up and out of the way during rhytidectomy, deep plane facelift and neck lift. Its smooth L shaped blade has a rounded end and no prongs, so it supports the flap from underneath instead of piercing it, and a curved hook at the handle end gives the assistant a steady pull.
It comes in two versions. On the fiberoptic version a light carrier runs along the shaft from a blue anodized threaded connector on the handle to where the blade begins, so a light cable puts the beam straight into the pocket the blade is holding open. The plain version has the same blade and handle without the light. Adas Instruments makes both in its own workshop from high quality medical grade stainless steel with a satin finish, and both go through the steam autoclave with the rest of the tray.
