Each year 4-H members enrolled in a livestock project are required to complete a Quality Assurance Certification through a Quality Livestock Care (QLC) in-person workshop session (multiple sessions offered by local extension offices) OR online through the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) website. This required to exhibit beef, dairy, goats, poultry, rabbits, sheep, starter calves, & swine at both the Adams County 4-H Fair and the Indiana State Fair.
The QLC workshop sessions offered in Adams County have ended for the 2026 year. Youth that still need to complete their certification must complete it through YQCA online. A copy of the member's certificate must be submitted in person or by email to the Adams County Extension Office by July 1.
Each year 4-H members can fulfill their Livestock Record requirments by...
Attending at least 1 species workshop (for each species they are enrolled in)
OR
Completing the Livestock Record Sheet paperwork (for each species they are enrolled in). A copy of the member's livestock record sheet must be submitted in person or by email to the Adams County Extension Office by July 1.
