Mini 4-H is a program that supports the positive development of children in kindergarten through second grade (availability or the name of the program may vary by county). It provides opportunities for young children to build friendships outside the family, discover and understand the world around them, develop both fine and gross motor skills, and learn how people collaborate on projects.
Mini 4-H offers a non-competitive learning environment that includes:
Engaging, hands-on activities where children can explore materials and ideas without pressure to complete a specific product or exhibit
A low adult-to-child ratio, allowing for individualized attention, encouragement, and support
Simple, fun, and age-appropriate activities
Opportunities for children to share or display their projects in a group setting
Equal recognition for all participants, such as identical rewards or same-color ribbons
This approach helps children learn, grow, and gain confidence in a supportive and inclusive setting.
