Dr. Danielle Tientcheu was born in Cameroon, Africa. After graduating from high school, she moved to the United States to attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she obtained a BS in Biology with Honors. She went on to complete her medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine where she was awarded a 4-year scholarship. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St Louis and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Texas Southwestern In Dallas.

Dr. Tientcheu has advanced training in clinical hypertension and research. Her clinical research in the Dallas Heart Study has highlighted the importance of both masked and white coat hypertension on cardiovascular outcomes. She was awarded the Young Investigator-In-Training from the American Society of Hypertension in 2015 for her contributions to this emerging field and her work was published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Tientcheu is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. Her special interests include preventive cardiology, cardiac imaging, hypertension and women’s heart disease.

During her spare time, Dr. Tientcheu enjoys running, cooking and spending time with her husband and their 2 daughters.
