Dr. Corentine Kwende-Ako M.D is a family medicine residency trained and board certified physician and has also subspecialized in Hospital Medicine. Dr. Kwende-Ako is an honors graduate of Bloomfield College and Rutgers/University of medicine and Dentistry-Robert Wood Johnson Medical school, New jersey in 2005.
Dr. Kwende-Ako then relocated to Miami to complete her training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital for her postgraduate years. In the last 8 years, she served as a hospitalist for several hospitals across the united states since graduation in 2008.
She has spent years in different practices including preventive medicine clinics, taking care of the newborn to the geriatric patient, as well as the care of the obstetric-gynecologic patient. In the last 5 years, she has served in the role of Academic Hospitalist Faculty in the Houston Methodist Family medicine residency Program, where she trained medical students completing hospital rotations.
She was appointed Adjunct Professor of Medicine at University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth, where she served for 2 years. In this role, she was able to educate medical students and patients on the prevention of disease, compliance with medical therapy and lifestyle modifications to foster healthier lifestyles.
In her current position, she is responsible for managing a 20 bed community hospital, and also the chairman of the physician peer review committee of the hospital, and alongside with hospital administration participates in effective utilization management of healthcare resources.
Dr Kwende-Ako currently resides in Dallas-Fort Worth, with her husband, and her two sons.
