The Acorn Family Consumer Sciences Department has two programs of study. Students can choose courses in the Hospitality & Tourism: Food Production, Management, and Services pathway OR the Consumer Services: Nutrition Science pathway. Students have the opportunity to complete classes in both pathways. Students who complete all three courses in a pathway will be considered completers at graduation and will be awarded completer chords to wear during their graduation ceremony.

Level 1: Family Consumer Science (2 semesters)
Level 2: Food Nutrition & Safety (2 semesters)
Level 3: Food Production (2 semesters)
Industry Certifications: ServSafe Food Handler, Servsafe Manager
Nutrition Science Pathway Courses:
Level 1: Family Consumer Science (2 semesters)
Level 2: Food Nutrition & Safety (2 semesters)
Level 3: Life & Fitness Nutrition (2 semesters)
Industry Certifications: Servsafe Food Handler, Servsafe Allergin
Students may also choose to enroll in the Child Development elective course. This course consists of two semesters. The American Heart Association CPR/AED certification is offered with this course.
All 7th grade students will complete one semester of the Family Consumer Science Investigations course.
All 8th grade students will complete one semester of the Career Development course.
