Little Spurs Pediatric Urgent Care is looking to add a Seasonal/ Full Time Medical Assistant to our growing team. This position is ideal for a motivated individual who enjoys working with kids. Our MA job positions allow for flexible schedules as well as education and training opportunities.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Work with your team members to provide excellent medical care to our patients!
Comfort sick or injured children and their nervous parents
Triage children and gather relevant medical history
Administer medications as directed by a provider
Perform point of care testing as directed
Assist providers during exam and procedures
Perform x-ray positioning as directed
Document visit in EHR
Schedule:
12, 10 and 8 hour shifts available
Rotating Weekends
Clinic Hours are as follows: Mon – Fri: 9:00 am – 8:30 pm
Sat-Sun: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Opportunity to travel to other clinics as needed
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be a graduate from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program, or Certified Medical Assistant with relevant work experience required
Must pass criminal background check
American Heart Association BLS certification required prior to start date

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our integrative functional medicine team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of pediatric experience, be proficient in taking infant and pediatric vitals, and be comfortable assisting with screenings, referrals, and other administrative and clinical tasks. · Infant and pediatric vital signs
· Conduct screenings and comfortably ask parents/guardians health-related questions.

· Perform administrative tasks, including managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and managing supply inventory.
· Ensure exam rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Requirements:
· 1-2 years of Pediatric experience
· Must be great with kids
· Current CPR/First Aid certification.
· Active Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program OR twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting OR current Medical Assistant certification
Candidates with one year of Medical work experience who do not possess Medical Assistant Certification must obtain Certification within one year of hire date
Medical Assistants who recently graduated from a Medical Assisting training program will obtain a clinical MA certification within 60 days of employment
Active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA certification/ABR-OE credentials is highly preferred

Minimum 1-year experience in outpatient pediatric practice or equivalent family practice outpatient preferred (as determined by department), or immediately post-externship in a pediatrics practice or clinic setting

National certification preferred
Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant will function in collaborative practice with physician(s) and/or advanced practice provider(s) in an ambulatory care setting. Assists in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care as directed by provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Skillfully and consistently performs clinical duties per established departmental policies and procedures. The care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the ambulatory care setting with an emphasis on good customer relations.
