Many shelters do not have space for animals, especially cats. ACF provides some equipment and covers some of the expenses of volunteers who provide temporary foster care. The organization also promotes effective and psychosocial well-being with recommendations such as (1) "don't separate kittens" and (2) "one litter box per cat and (3) add an extra litter box" and (4) "provide running water with a cat fountain."
Join us by donating. Support our plan to spread these four recommendations.

Have you seen a mom cat with her babies before humans come to separate them? Keep kittens together. Don’t separate kittens. Put the whole group up for adoption together.
In the wild, kittens live with their mother in the bushes. So don’t separate the kittens if the mom is no longer with them: keep the kittens together.
Keep Families Together
Ideal
Mom and kittens continue to live together. This is the natural way in the wild. Find a home that can adopt the whole family.
Good
If the mother cat is not available, keep the kittens together. We keep human brothers and sisters together when babies are adopted. Why not keep kittens together?
Avoid
Many organizations decide to put kittens up for adoption into separate homes (This is the standard way for many clinics and shelters in the 21st Century). Who wants to allow human brothers and sisters to be separated? Why do we believe that “it’s okay to separate kittens”?
Here's what ANIMALS COME FIRST does:
a) we let local shelters know that a person who adopts THE ENTIRE FAMILY qualifies to receive the FAMILY INCENTIVE PLAN.**
**when an item in the Family Incentive Plan is currently not available, the person is put on a waiting list and the item will be delivered later.
b) We contact manufacturers to get supplies donated
c) When we get the supplies, we deliver the Family Incentive Plan to the people who have adopted THE ENTIRE FAMILY.
Here's how you can make a difference
1) Your donations support the purchase of materials that we can't get donated.
2) You can inform us that "an entire family of kittens is available." We arrange for pickup and care of the kittens (with the mom, if possible).
