ABOUT ACCR
Ananda Centre for Cancer Research (ACCR), is a non-profit organization founded in 2022 to orient cancer control through research, education, and cancer law. We accomplish our mission by undertaking research into the nature, causation, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of all cancers. In addition, we develop and convert our research findings into practical legislation and policies for cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. In support of that fundamental goal, we educate the upcoming generation of scientists, disseminate knowledge, and increase public awareness of these issues. Our primary goal is to collaborate with governments at the ministerial level to fund, carry out, and ensure high standards of all forms of cancer research, as well as to educate and utilize research findings to restore and develop create legislation for cancer control.
Our specific objectives include:
Investigate the causes of cancer in our population and develop more effective methods for diagnosing, preventing, and treating all types of cancer.
Increase capacity and offer the upcoming generation of researchers state-of-the-art training and educational opportunities.
Translate and inform legislators about scientific discoveries to facilitate the creation and execution of evidence-based regulations and policies that Uganda needs to combat cancer.
