The Fundamentals of Online Teaching, or FoOT, course has been offered for several years to TCTC faculty interested in teaching online. FoOT is a six-week course, offered through the University of Wisconsin – Madison. The course teaches pedagogical theory and best-practices regarding online teaching. By completing the course, faculty receive a digital badge certifying that you are uniquely qualified to teach online.

Instructions for instructors interested in beginning the Online Teaching Credential Process:
(1) Print this form and complete Section 1, (2) obtain supervisor’s approving signatures, and (3) send via interoffice mail to Office of Academic Development, RH270
Academic Development will enroll you in (1) the Online Course Management module in Blackboard and (2) the University of Wisconsin-Madison Fundamentals of Online Teaching online course.
Academic Development will review your Faculty Development attendance records and record the number of Blackboard training hours you have completed since Spring 2019. You will be notified as to whether you have met the 3-hour minimum training requirement or if you need to attend additional training.
Academic Development will record your completion of the requirements in Section 2 and notify you, your supervisor, and the SACS office when you have met all the requirements.
