Born in 1947 in the Czech Republic, Vladimir Prochazka is a leading figure in architectural glass and molten glass sculpture. He studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague and soon after began producing glass sculptures and fountains for public and private spaces throughout the country (Procházka Glass Studio).
Among his most celebrated works are the luminous glass bridges at the Czech House of Parliament, now designated a National Cultural Monument. Across all of his projects,. ranging from fountains and glass ceilings to lighting and sculpture, Prochazka combines a monumental sensibility with inventive interpretations of traditional forms and techniques (Procházka Glass Studio).
