As I have mentioned to you earlier, I always plan the teaching lessons and materials ahead of time and make sure that I have chosen an appropriate motivational activities for my students. I start my teaching through a warm up activity in order to bring back the students' interest and energy to continue learning more in the lesson.
After I have been assigned and discussed the teaching topic with Abi Puput, my cooperating teacher who always gives me fruitful advice and suggestions on how I could teach the students effectively and efficiently in both boy and girl classes. I would prepare the teaching lesson 1 week before hands. During my teaching practice, I would spend around 3 - 5 minutes for warm up / motivational activities in order to engage the learners' interest. After that I would begin my teaching.
The only problem that I have encountered during the teaching practice in Al-Amjad Islamic school is the language barrier between me and my students, especially the boys. I was assigned to teach 2 all-boy classes ( VII-2 and 3 ), and most of them doesn't know how to speak and understand English language. I sometimes use gestures and body languages to help them understand easily. Moreover, my Abi Puput, cooperating teacher and Mr. Muhammad Joko Mahendra, buddy was always there to help me translate some words which were very difficult for them to understand.
Most of the students in Al-Amjad Islamic school are actually full of energy and thoughtful. Handling them is not big problem for me as long as I have enough energy.
