Al-Amjad Islamic school implies an integrated curriculum which integrates Islamic values into each lesson. This refers to the National Curriculum combines with the Al-Amjad Typical Curriculum and local content by balancing aspects of Attitudes, Skills, and Knowledge.
The school also offers extracurricular activities such as scouts, sports, traditional martial arts, traditional dance, painting, music and more.
In Al-Amjad Islamic school, I was assigned to design teaching plans and teach in Junior high school specifically in Grade 7 (VII) section 2, 3, and 6. I wasn't asked to use a particular format, so I decided to use the one I use back home. The format of my teaching plans are fairly simple, but they are in detail. Together with Abi Puput, my cooperating teacher and I designed teaching plans with basic competence, objectives and so on. I were able to finish my teaching plans for each topic and use the same plans for every section ( VII-2, 3 and 6 ).
My teaching plan mostly focuses on child-centred and provides them an opportunity to express themselves freely, ask questions, work individually and in a group. Under the guidance of my cooperating teacher, he always suggests me to stimulate the learners' interest by using motivational activities.
