The main purpose of this practicum for me, a Thai student teacher is to give myself a chance to apply my pedagogical skills, knowledge in the field of teaching, speaking skill and leadership skill. The important points are to know more about different culture, language, classroom environment and to have the capacity to comprehend my future career as an English teacher locally or globally.

In this SEA Teacher Project Batch 7, I literally learned with my stay at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara ( UMSU ) and Al-Amjad Islamic school. It helped me to improve and develop my teaching, English communication, and leadership skills. I can bravely say that this practicum has been helping me understand, grow up and experience fruitful people and amazing places. I believe that this practicum would help me to apply all the knowledge, principles, concepts and experiences I learned in my coming future career.

The only one problem I have faced during this programme was the communication barrier issue. I encountered this problem, especially with the boys ( VII-2 and 3). Most of them doesn't know how to speak and understand English. As the educator, I clearly understand that I should be more creative and imaginative in discovering new techniques and approaches to make them be comfortable, confident and completely understandable with English, which is not their official language.

My overall impression after 1 month staying in the land of volcanoes, I have professionally improved and developed through this practicum a lot, and met different people with the different personalities.

This programme ( SEA Teacher Project Batch 7 ) is good in a way they always give student teachers all over south-east asian countries wonderful opportunities to experience all of these fruitful things. I'm pleased and contented of what this programme offers to me and SEA Teacher is the best memory and will be always thankful to the people involved in this programme. Terima kasih! 😍
