Read or Listen on your Phone

Step 1

Install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or go to https://soraapp.com.

Step 2

In Sora, find our school, then sign in using your Clever Account.

Step 3

Browse the Explore tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading right away. You can read or listen on your phone, tablet or even your laptop.

Step 4

Close the book and go to your Shelf to see all your books From there, you can:

• Tap Open Book or Open Audiobook to read or listen to the book.

• Tap Options to renew or return the book, get to your notes and highlights, and more.

How to listen to audiobooks

You can start listening to audiobooks right after you borrow them, or open them from your Shelf > Loans.

How to use the audiobook player

• Swipe left to right on the cover to rewind. Swipe right to left on the cover to jump forward.

• Use the seek bar at the bottom of the player to move to a specific time in the book. 

• Tap to switch between common playback speeds. Drag down on to select a precise speed.

• Tap to set a sleep timer. Drag down on to change the length of the timer.

• Tap to make a bookmark and, if you'd like, add a note

• Tap and hold to highlight a section and, if you'd like, add a note.

• Tap to open the menu. From there, you can see the audiobook's chapters, your bookmarks, and more.

eBook Features

Tap and hold a word to define it, highlight it, or search for it in other places in the book. To select more than one word, hold and drag.

How to return a book

Books are automatically returned on their due date.

If you finish a book early, you can return it before it's due with these steps:

1. Tap Shelf.

2. Tap Options.

3. Tap Return, then tap Return again.
