Being Type 1 Diabetic myself, I understand how challenging it can be to begin exercising, trying a new routine, or changing your usual habits whilst keeping levels stable around that.
As those of us with T1 or T2 will understand first-hand, it can be very tricky to see results if blood sugar is out or range. This has to be our first priority over anything else!Â
It made sense for me to qualify as a diabetes specialist personal trainer, in order to work more closely with other T1D's, as well as T2D's to manage and improve blood sugar levels - understand how different types of exercise affect levels whilst exercising, but also 24+ hours post exercise - nutrition that is enjoyable and supportive (as well as knowing how each macronutrient can impact blood glucose levels and how to navigate this) - plus all the lifestyle elements which are just as important as exercise and nutrition!
Our coaching can include all sorts of info such as;
why different types of exercise can make levels drop or rise
understand what's happening to systems of the body to stage in range before, during, and after exercise
the importance of muscle mass for achieving healthy blood sugars
nutrition strategies to help stay balanced, healthy, and happy
how surprising things within daily life can be affecting glucose levels and fitness
sleep, stress, toxicity, mindset
... and lots more!
